Nathalie Emmanuel

Nathalie Emmanuel, a British actor best known for her part as Missandei (HBO's fantasy series Game of Thrones) from the year 2011 until 2019 in the role of a British actor. The actress was born and raised in Southend-on-the-Sea, a beach-side resort town in Essex, Emmanuel was drawn to the stage from a young age. Nathalie began taking singing, acting, and dancing lessons at 3 years of age. Her parents were immediately impressed. Emmanuel became a fast-growing actor and, by the time she reached her late teens, she was playing a young Nala on stage in"The Lion King," a West End production of the acclaimed stage musical "The Lion King." At the age of an adult, Emmanuel began auditioning for television and film roles. She was able to land her first big role, when she appeared as Sasha Valentine in the British soap show Hollyoaks (Channel 4 from 1995 to). Emmanuel was in the role for four seasons. She then quit the series in 2010. Emmanuel received her major break in HBO "Game of Thrones" after three years, as Missandei. In this role, she serves as the character's interpreter, akin to Daenerys' Targaryen role (portrayed by Emilia Clarke).
